Breaking the Hold of Self-Slavery written by Baruch Silas is all about being crowned with greatness, honour and long life through a ride on the highway of holiness and righteousness.
The writer discovered that millions of people all over the world are under the captivity of poverty, protracted sicknesses and poor health, barrenness, marital tussle and lack of peace.
Most of these cases are caused by man’s refusal to abide by the unbreakable laws of God as regards his providence, protection and healing.
He explains that some of these bondages could be inherited, imposed, accidental, willful or gotten out of ignorance.

Baruch presents imagery where man submits his life willfully through his activities to the manipulations of devil and forces of darkness. These acts inhibit the blessings of promotion, defense and success and attract pestilence, stagnation, failure, and frustrations of ones endeavours.

Breaking free from any bondage is very difficult when one doesn’t know he is in bondage, why and how to escape. As long as one enjoys his chains, he can’t make effort to break free. The one in bondage has only two choices: remain in bondage by engaging in Satan’s gratification or fight to break free and enjoy the sustainable life of freedom and peace given by the Ultimate Source.

The writer, therefore, introduces the concept and practice of traveling on the highway of holiness.
This divine principle supports the popular parlance that heaven helps those who help themselves. Life and events in the physical is determined in the supernatural realm.
It is impossible to achieve anything worthwhile without a reference and connection with the Ultimate Source of existence.

Blazing further, Baruch introduces the 10 steps to acquire greatness and long life. One fully agrees that if one must succeed in life, his ways of life must be in agreement with the way of God.
Individuals have their own goals and attributes but these attributes and aspirations must be subordinated to the attributes of the one who determines nature.

The author identified that millions of people on daily basis desire to achieve the desires of their heart but misses it because they lack the key to success.
He presents the steps that ensure the approval and actualization of ones proposals.
Moreover, there must be a cordial relationship between the Source, God and the Resource, man to ensure a smooth transfer of blessings to the resource.
Baruch therefore introduces the concept of the covenant time as a way to connect and hear from God.
